Last week me and my members of the 'Dam Deuk' program visited the Seoudamun prison hall.
The site was built during the Japanesese ruling period. The prison was used to imprison many patriots who fought for freedom and justice for our nation. The incaptured prisoners were not just normal freedom fighters. They were rather the leaders among them. Now the place is a museum for the descendants of Korea to look and praise for our independantistas.
During my visit I saw the cruelty of the Japanese imperalism and how our ancestors reacted towards them. As I experienced a variety of tortures, I was astonished to see how much our ancestors strived for freedom and devoted themselves for their ideology.
To my make long story short, I was strongly inspired by our patriots and promised myself to study hard for the prosperity and liberty of Korea. |
