Today, I visited the Chang-deok Palace which lasted from 1405 to 1910, 505 years. It is known as a palace that has harmony with nature. Don-hwa-mun was built in 1412 and is the oldest remaining gate. There is a bell hung on the second floor of the gate. Three Chinese scholar trees were planted in the palace. They were symbols for Three-top-officials. The king stayed in the Seon-jeong-jeon for the most of his work and slept in Hui-jeong-dang with the queen. We didn’t get to visit it, bue the Secret Rear Garden is very beautiful. It is called Secret Garden because most of it is hidden in small valleys between the hills. It was my first class and it was very interesting and useful. |
