Hello, my name is Mingwan. I went to the National Museum of Contemporary Korea. I reviewed what I had learned in Damduk 2. I would like to tell you about the Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Baekje.
The Gilt-bronze Incense Burner shows the skillful techniques of the Baekje people. On the top lid, there is a phoenix spreading its wings. In the carvings on the top lid, there are musicians and people with animals, representing the spirit realm. The bottom part has a lotus flower supporting the spirit realm, and a dragon is holding everything together with its mouth. This amazing incense burner was lost for centuries. It was found not long ago when people were building a parking lot. They dug it up and discovered that it was an incense burner from Baekje. This artifact is now safely stored in a museum in a city called Buyeo.
I picked this incense burner because it shows how great Baekje¡¯s craftsmanship was. I hope to see the real incense burner someday.
