Unhyun Palace was not actually a palace; it was Hung-seon-dae-won-gun's personal house. Hung-son-dae-won-gun, related to the royal family, lived a sad and sorrowful life.

At that time, Andong Kim's clan had a strong power, and Hung-seon-dae-won-gun needed to act like a fool to live. Why? Because the Andong Kim's clan knew that if Hung-seon-dae-won-gun was clever, they cannot control the country as they want.

One of Hung-seon-dae-won-gun's sons was Go-jong, who became the 26th king of Jo-seon. He later changed his country's name to Dae-han-jae-guk and called himself emperor. Since he was young, Hung-seon-dae-won-gun acted like a king instead.

Hung-seon-dae-son-gun and Queen Min could not get along well with each other. Hung-seon-dae-won-gun wanted to close Korea, but Queen Min wanted Korea to be a social country. Japanese also killed her because she wanted to hold hands with Russia. Russia and Japan had fought over who was to rule Korea, and since Russia lost, she thought tha perhaps Russia could be some help.

Now I will tell you about some of the buildings in Unhyun Palace.

In Iro-dang, there is a gate where servents need to lower their heads to go inside. This gate is called the low gate. However, there are also the Lofty Gates where noblemen went through. Men rested and enjoyed their time in Noan-dang. Hung-seon-dae-won-gun also practice calligraphy and met guests here. There is also a modern building inside the palace, but it was not built by us; it was built by the Japanese.

I think Unhyun Palace is a place with history. I can think about this small palace's deep and sad history, that would be hiding behind some corner.
