Unhyun Palace, the house of Heung-seon-dae-won-gun played an important role in making shape of Korea's history. Several kings, Queen Min, and the different sections were all applied to the structure Although it was not considered as an official palace, Unhyun palace was a great significance of modern Korea's past.
Heungsun Daewongun and his son King Gojong, impacted Korea. Heungsun Daewongun was a bad influence for people, and it degraded Joseon's reputation because he always hung out with gangsters. On the other hand, his son King Gojong became king after his far relative died, and had control over the kingdom. He became king at age 12.
Queen Min impacted the shaping of Korea's history because of her leadership and communication. She was the wife of King Gojong, and she played important roles in politics. She became queen at age 16, and wanted to modernize Korea. She tried to keep a good relationship with Russia, but the Japanese strongly disagreed with that idea. They showed their violence by killing her and burning her remains.
The different sections of the palace was built by Korean Traditions and played great roles impacting the daily lives of people living in the palace. The three areas are Noan-dang, Norak-dang, and Iro dang. Noan-Dang was the men's living area, and a lot of important meetings. The Norak-dang was the women's living area. Since Queens could not exit the palace, great royalty was served,  and the Norak-dang was the biggest building. The Iro dang was used after the marriage of a king and a queen.
