Fun Trip to Seoul Museum of History
I went to Seoul Museum of History. In this place, I think there are many historical things.
There is the umbilical cord of pot and also the epic poem which is called the 용비어천가. In 용비어천가, it has the Korean language and tells when Joseon Dynasty started and more information. Joseon Dynasty was made up in 1392.
In Seoul Museum of History, there is the folding screen. It is the Highlights of Typical Korean life. There are 10 folding screens, and it tells the person's most important events from 10-39 years old. Some examples are the wedding and civil service exam. Also, there is the umbilical cord pottery. It is the place that keeps the prince's and princess's umbilical cords.
The most interesting fact was the people's different clothes. The common people wore white clothes made out of cotton and hemp. It has only white color since dyeing was very expensive. The noble men wore colorful clothes since they could take care of the money. Also, they were made out of silk. The noble men wore samo and gwandae. The people who wore clothes with a crane was a civil officer or politician. The person with the tiger was the military officer. The crane represented integrity. The tiger represented bravery. The people with two cranes and tigers embroidered on their clothes were called 당상관, and the person with the crane and tiger embroidered on their clothes were called 당하관.
I think that Seoul Museum of History is a good place where you could learn Korean culture. Also, it is a place I learned more about Joseon Dynasty. I think now I am more proud of my country, Korea. |
