◆<Seoul Museum of History>◆
Today, I went to the Seoul Museum of History. First, I will talk about the capital city of the Joseon Dynasty, Hanyang. King Taejo founded the Joseon Dynasty in 1392. He moved the capital city from Gaegyeong to Hanyang. Also, he built five palaces;Gyeogbok, Gyeonghui, Gyeongun, Changgyeong, and Changdeok Palace. I saw many things in this museum, however, my favorite things were the epic poem and hopae.
The epic poem was the first book written in korean. Before King Sejong invented Hangeul, Korea used Chinese characters. This book tells us how the Joseon Dynasty was established.
Furthermore, I liked the hopae. A hopae was an ID card in the Joseon Dynasty. On the front side, there was the name, class, and date of birth. In addition, on the back side, there was the date of issue. People showed hopae to the gatekeeper and entered the gate.
Although the Joseon Dynasty was quite similar, I liked the epic poem and the hopae the most. Today, I could go over the Joseon Dynasty and the history of Seoul, so I think it was a good chance to experience the history. |
