What palace do you like best in Korea?
I think it's 경복궁. 경복궁 is the biggest palace in Korea's palaces.
경복궁 has many buildings. There were almost 320 buildings before the 임진war, but after the 임진war, everything were burned, so we rebuilt, but there were only few buildings now.
I will tell about some buildings.
First, when we go into the 경복궁, we pass the main gate of the palace, 광화문. If we pass광화문, we can see a big building. This is 근정전. 근정전is the main building of the palace.
It looks like 2 story building, but it's 1 story building actually.
Second, if we pass 근정전, we see 사정전. 사정전 is the office of the king. The officers and the king gathered here and discussed political affairs.
Third, there is 강녕전 and 교태전. At 강녕전, the king lives. At 경복궁, dragon ridhe was a symbol for thd king. But at 강녕전, the king was living there, so there was no dragon ridge.
교태전 is where the queen lives. The queen couldn't go out, so the king made a garden for the queen. This garden is 아미산.
경복궁 is a beautiful palace with many big buildings. |
