After World War 2, Korea became independent from Japan. But the happiness of independence didn't go long. Soon enough, Korea came to be divided into North Korea and South Korea, and each was effected by Soviet Union and USA.

Kim Il-sung, the ruler of North Korea, ordered to attack South Korea in 1950. The war went on for three years, and the war went very fierecely. In 1953, North and South Korea made an armistice committee. The war is not over yet and Korea still remains the only divided country in the world.
