In Bangimun Story today, we learned about many things,However, I liked the 교태전, Hyungbae, and the markets.
The 교태전 is the inside part of the palace where the queen stays. It is in the center because the queen has to stay uder protection of the guards and men. I like 교태전 because it has a beautifull garden for the queen not to be bored, since she could not go out of the palace once she is married. There is also a seperate part of the 교태전 for the queen lays the princes or princesses. This place is called the 권순각.
The next is the hyunbae. The hyungbae is the patterns embroidered on the official uniforms of the officials. Only the king and crown prince had dragon patterns, the civil officers had cranes which mean integrity, and the military officers had tiger patterens which means bravery. The last is the markets. The markets of Hanyang was the main market. The licensed markets were called 시전, and the unlicensed markets were called 난전. The markets which sell cotton goods, ramie fabric,silk,paper, and dried fish is called 육의전.
