※If you didn't studied about 5th graders social studies, it'll be hard to understand a little bit. Anyway Let's START~!

Let's don't be betrayer!

Hello. My name is Han - Tae Jong. In national folk museum we learn about our Korean food, clothes etc. But actually we learned these things in fifth grader's social study time. So, I really didn't expected it'll be fun and expected to be boring. A result was same that I thought. I didn't learned new things BUT I felt great and important thing once again in my mind. I'm gonna tell you just three things about our Korea which can tell and show us that our ancestors are wise and how proud our tradition is.

First one is Hunminjeongeum. Before Hunminjeongeum was created just nobles and riches can use Chinese. So for normal people it's hard for them to read and write Chinese. Chinese was to difficult to use. Because of this problem King Sejong made Jip Hyeon Jun so that experts in there can create new Korean own language. They tried and tried and finally, they created Hunminjeongeum. in 1443. It is consisted with 10vowels and 14 consonants. Each of them represents the nature of the world. In October 1997 it is chosen for UNESCO because of its scientific creativity.

Second, Kimchi supports my main idea. At that time it was hard to eat vegetables in winter so women started make Kimchi to eat in winter. As they made foods and their skills improve, Korea making pot technology also increased. They made clay pots to restore these Kimchis. People made it salty and spicy to make it exist logner.

Third one is Han Yak which is the eastern medicine. In the past, Korea didn't trade with western countries. Western countries medicine technology was developed that eastern countries. Korea used Han Yak which is our own medical technology. There was nothing made by people. It all comes from nature so it was not tasty but healthy. They cured people very wisely.

In conclusion as we know from Hunminjeongeum, Kimchi and Hanyak, Koreans wer wise and I'm so thankful and respectful to my ancestors. But these days, people are kept using western culture so our culture is disappearing such as eating hamburgers, live in departments. There are many people who still love our cuture. I really love Korean food and house especially rice cake. I'm afraid that our culture will be disappeared from our life. I don't mean we must NOT follow western culture. I mean we must also follow our culture. So we must work hard to preserve our culture forever. Thank you for reading my essay.
