On January 28th I went to "Seoul Museum of History". This was my first time, so I was very excited. I could learn many histories of Korea. For example, I learned about old people's lifestyle, things that they use to live, ETC. I'll talk about old time farmer's work for every seasons. When spring comes, many farmers prepare for planting seeds to grow. They break up the soil amd make the ground smooth for planting. Then they put in clean fertilizers. After this they wait for flowers and trees start to blossom. In summer the rice plant grows. Because of hot weather, farmers have breaks. They make clothes by using ramie and hemp. And they dye their clothes with natural color from the indigo and gardenia. The most important seasons is autumn. Because they all harvest their crops, when they planted in spring. Farmers celebrate with their crops. Also they repair their house for winter and get ready to fight with the cold. During winter, it is hard to find vegetables, so women prepare for "Gimjang". This is when women make Kimchi to eat in the long winter. This was how people in old time lived. I thought very proud of people in old times. It was very amazing. |
