After visiting the War Memorial of Korea...

  Hello, my name is Sieun Lee. Last time, I visited the War Memorial of the Korea. It was the first time to visit that place. There were many various sections what attracted my attention. However, the most interesting part was the Mongol Invasions. I'd like to tell you about Mongol Invasions, first.

  At that time, Mongol was as strong as United states. When Mongol aggressed to the Goryeo, King and other ruling class escaped to the Gang-hwa Island. I was very furious when I knew that some of our ancestors were such a coward. I was astonished, too! Goryeo people and an army called Sam-byeol-cho had fought against the Mongol! Unfortunately, Mongol invaded 7 times since 1231. I think that the passion of the Goryeo people was the reason that they could stay for 40 years. Sadly, at the last war, we were defeated from the Mongol. Mongolians vandaled our precious treasures. At least, however it was a page of the great history.

  The another war I was interested was the Sal-su war. Sui China had invaded Goguryeo. At that time, a wise general called Euljimundeok led the war. At first, Sui China was defeated. So Sui China emperor got angry and send 300 thousands soldiers to the war. I think that Sui China emperor was little stupid. If I was Sui China emperor, I would realize that Goguryeo was a country that was very strong that Sui China couldn't win. When Sui China attacked the Goguryeo, general Euljimundeok opened the dam to drown them. So only 2700 people of Sui China were alive. I was so satisfied when I learned this history. At least, our ancestors were stronger and wiser than China.

  For conclusion, our Korean ancestors were passionate to save their country! After all, I loved this place. I hope to come again later.
