<Unhyung Palace>

          Hello! My name is Juwon, and I went to Unhyung Palace, today. Heung-son Dae-won-gun used to live there, but it was not an official Palace. There are four main buildings in the Palace, which is Su-jik-sa, Noan-dang, Norak-dang, and Iro-dang. There are also two gates called lofty gate and lower gate. Lofty gate represents the pride of noble men. Lower gate symbolize modesty, because you need to bow to get through.

         Now I am going to explain about the main buildings. Su-jik-sa was a place for servants and guards. It is located near the gate. Noan-dang was where men lived. Heung-son Dae-won-gun studied and painted in there. Norak-dang was a place for women. Empress Myeong-seong lived there. Iro-dang was another Anchae. It was built after the marriage of King Go-jong and Empress Myeong-seong, because Heoung-seon Dae-won-gun's wife could not live in Norak-dang anymore.

         There were some problems with Hyeoung-seon Dae-won-gun and Empress Myeong-seong's relationship. Since Hyung-son Dae-won-gun wanted to close the gate of Joseon. He was afraid about Japan taking over Joseon. On the other hand, Empress Myeong-seong wanted to modernize Joseon and build a new relationship with Rusia. But, Japan didn't like that idea and killed her.

         I learned a lot of history from Unhyung Palace. Thank you for listening
