today, I went to chang gyoeng palace and saw many things. chang gyeong palace was built by king seong jong. and burned during japanese invasion. but king guang hea rebuilt it. in chang gyeong palace, there are many buildings and gardens. but i will introduce some important things.

first,myeongjeongjeon, this place was for official events. civil service exams and many official

ceremonies were held here.

next, dancheong. dancheong is the colorful korean-styled decoration, usually seemed at buddist temples or palaces. iam familiar with dancheong, because isaw it many times.

it has 5 colors and 5 meanings. white means iron,brown means wood, black means water, red means fire, blue means nature, yellow means earth.

finally, I will introduce Jabsang. Jabsang are the small figures. they are usually found at the roof of palace. they came from chinese novel "journey to the west". The first is buddist monk,second,monkey,third,pigforth,lion. These are the characters of the novel.

I think chang gyeong palace has many sad stories. Lady Jang and crown prince sado was killed here and during Japanese invasion, Japan make this palace into zoo. but I'm so proud that we have these beutiful cultures.
