My favorite palace among the five.
Last Saturday, I went to the ChangGyeongGung palace. Actually, it was the first time for me to study in mariestory. I learned a lot of interesting things with my teammates such as structures of palace and history of buildings.
ChangGyeongGung Palace was a very splendid palace. King Seongjong built it and sadly was burnt down during the Japanese invasion in 1592 and King Gwanghae rebuilt it in 1616. It has a lot of buildings inside and outside. Among the inner buildings, I liked TongMyeongJeon the most since, it is cool and good for just sitting down and talk awhile with someone. Also, it is the biggest too.
Between the outer palaces, Sungmundang was my eye candy. That's because I was interested with the letters on the signboard which was written by King YeongJo.
Honestly, I am into stories. I was happy to hear that there are some stories in ChangGyeongGung Palace too. But I didn't know that they were sad stories. Lady Jang was killed here by people forcing her to drink a poisonous juice. Also, Crown Prince Sado was put to death in a rice chest because of the argument about the king's place. I really wanted to see the rice chest that Crown Prince Sado was killed however, unfortunately, it was too far away. We didn't have an oppourtunity to go and see it. Maybe when I have a chance to go to ChangGyeongGung Palace again, I will see the rice chest first. So that, I won't lose my chance again. I really enjoyed my time in here. I am already excited for the next class.
