Have you ever been to Gyeongbok Palace before? It is a palace where it shows the traditional ways of the Korea in Gyeongbok palace can be divided into three parts-outer palaces, inner palace, and the back garden. At the outer palace, ceremonies such as coronation, royal wedding, and Chinese envoy reception are held. The Geunjeongjeon is the main throne hall. Sajeongjeon is the king’s daily working office, where the king discussed political affairs and studied Confucian canon. The inner palace is the area for royal family and some official work. Gangneongjeon was the king’s living quarter, but there is no dragon ridge on the roof. Guotaejeon is the queen’s living quarter. Behind Guotaejeon, there is a garden called Amisan. Jagueongjeon is the queen mother’s living quarter, which was built by Heungseon Daewongun and it has a beautiful chimney and flower wall. The back garden was the place for rest and entertainment. Gyeonghoeru it is an official party place and has 48 stone pillars which are square around the edge and the inner are round. This resembles the Yin and Yang theory. Hyangwonjeong is a resting place for the royal family and is also related with the Yin and Yang theory.

Gueongbok palace is a beautiful palace; however, we had only restored 10% of the palace. In my opinion, Korea should restore more of the palace, because the palace represents our country.
