I went to the National Folk Museum of Korea today. I had learned lots of things about Joseon in the museum. I got to know the il-wol-o-bang-byeong. It is a massive picture behind the throne. The sun presents the king, the moon represents the queen, the five mountains represent the land of Joseon, the pine tree represents the Joseon officials and the water presents the common people. King Tae-Jong founded Joseon in 1392. King Sejong had expanded the territory and had centralized the government. He also promoted scientific technology and astronomy. In 1592, the Imjin War had started. The Josen admiral Sun Shin-Lee defeated the Japanese soldiers and won the war. I thought that our Joseon was very brave and I thought that the Joseon was good and great. |
