Hello!My name is Victoria and I will introduce you about Geongungung Palace~

 Today was my first time to come to the Mariestory. I was exited about it. The original name of Duksugung Palace was Geongungung Palace.The name was changed by the Japenese. I think Geongungung is very unique becuse it was the first place to contain some western-style building, but I was sad that there were western-style building because they should build with only our country's style buildings or culture even it was pretty.

 Originally, Geongungung was the private house of the older brother of King Seongjong who completed the law of Joseon. It became Main Palace of the Joseon Dynasty after the Japenese Invanison of 1952. However, the King Gwanghaegun later moved to the Changdeokgung.

 I saw the Daehanmun which was the main gate of Geongungung. I went inside and at the middle, I could see the remarkable building called, 'Junghwajeon' which was the most important bulding because it was the place for official events. Inside Junghwajeon, there is the throne, which is beautifully decorated. Back of the throne, there is Irowl Obongbyeong.

 I went closer inside, and there was Seokodang. Seokodang is the only two-storey building in the palace. Sadly, Inmok, Queen Mother, was locked in Seokodang under the order of the King Gwanghaegun.

 I saw a large building and it was used at the King's sleeping place. Also I saw an Deokhonjeon which was for the reception hall for foregin guests. It was decorated in western-style. I saw two more beautiful western-style building and it was Seokjojeon and Jeonggwanheon. I saw many other buildings too!

 I learned that King Gojong always enjoyed coffee. He didn't know how to drink, so he swallowed it. I enjoyed learning about Geongungung Palace.
