I went to Namsan Hanok Village today. There were Yoon-Taek-Young's house, Min-Young-whi's house, Yoon-duck-young's house, Lee-seoung-up's house, and Kim-chun-young's house. Lee-seoung-up was a carpenter, and he built many houses for noblemen. Yoon-duck-young is Yoon-taek-young's brother, and they were Japanese followers. Many of the noblemen were Japanese followers these days in Chosun. Yoon-taek-young's nickname was debt king, because he had so many debts from other people. I learned about Sarangchae(사랑채), Anchae(안채). Sarangchae is for men, and it's for guests to come and talk with. Sarangchae is closer with door than Anchae. Anchae is a room for women, and it's close with the kitchen. Anchae is far with the door, because women should be protected and were not allowed to go outside in the time of Chosun. There is one fun thing about the layers of the stones when the carpenter builds a house. The fun thing is which the first layer of stone means just a nobleman, the two layers of stone means high nobleman, three means royal family, four is for Jongmyo(종묘), and five is for palace.

Thank you.
