National museum of Korea
written by: Seung Hoon Lee(Charley)
In National museum of Korea, I saw lots of treasures, heritage, historical
pictures, murals and so on. I watched the museums in order of the history.
The history was divided to Paliothic Period, Neolithic Period, Gojoseon, Buyeo and Samhan Period, Three Kigdoms Period(Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla and Gaya),
The North and south Kingdoms Period(Balhae and Unified Silla), Post Three
Kingdoms period and Goryeo. I didn' t watched children' s museum and Joseon Period.
I' ve learned easily that history could be divided into Prehistoric age and Historic age.
From Historic age, mankind could write letters. Prehistoric age could be divided to the Stone age, the Bronze age and the Iron age. The Bronze age and the Iron age is continued until Historic age. In Bronze age, people made the bronze daggers. There are Mandolin shaped sword and Korean style bronze dagger are the examples of bronze daggers. Also, the Stone age could be divided into two periods: Paliothic Period and Neolithic Period.
In Paliothic period, mankind used chipped stone tools like hand axes. They threw or punched to make chipped stone tools. They lived the cave and moved the caves when the resources ran out. They got resources from the real nature, kind of hunting and gathering plants. Mankind didn' t tame animals or didn' t plant the seeds through the Paliolithic age.
In Neolithic Period, mankind used polished stone tools and made the stone tools smaller. They grind the stones to make polshed stone tools. They made villages and built houses. They fished and farmed to get resources. They also started to live near river or sea.
National museum of Korea is an excellent place to learn about Korean history and watch very many national treasures. I like the national museum of Korea. I wish I have a chance to go there one more time. |
