Today's place was museum as same as yesterday. I went to the National Folk Museum. First, the design of the museum was attractive. It was so cool. It was dsigned based on various Korean historical buildings. We first saw the life of Korean. The first part in people's lives is birth. We hung strawropes when the babies are born. It told people what gender the baby had, and it kept people from coming and giving germs. We put loyal family's umbilical cord in the jar. It would be buried in the ground. The 100th day was important because in the joesun times, the babies died very early. The first birthday was also very important. We had doljabi that we picked something from book, brush, rice, thread, and money. Books and brush mean that the baby will become scholar. rice and money mean the wealth, and the thread means long lives. We still do doljabi nowdays, too. I picked pencil. Maybe I will have a good score or be a cholar. In the traditional marriage, the bride and the groom didn't know each other. It was not love. Only parents decided the marriage. I think it would be so sad that you cannot marry with a person who you love. I would never want to marry with person that I do not love. There were funeral. education, health, etc, too. It was so fun and interesting, and I want to visit the National Folk Museum again. |
