Today ladies and gentleman I am here to introduce you about the main palace in Seoul which is Gyeongbokgung Palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace can be divided in to three parts. The outer palace, the inner palace, and the back garden. The outer palace was used for working and ceromonies like weddings. However, the inner palace was the royal families' privite quarter and their sleeping and living area. Lastly, the back garden was used for resting. There are 향원정 and 경회루 in the back garden. 향원정 was the private resting place for royal families, but 경회루 was for social parties.
Now let me move on to the sad history of 광화문. 광화문 is the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The original gate was destroyed during the Joseon-Japan war. It was rebuilt by 흥선대원군. However, later during the time of Japanese occupation in the early 19ceunturies, 광화문 was moved to the north of 건춘문 because Japanese built the 조선총독부 in the original place of 광화문. 광화문 was severly damaged during Korean war. Latly it was rebuilt with traditional materials in 2010.
To sum up, I would like to review the favorite thing I saw today. The favorite thing that I saw was 일월오봉병. I felt like the meaning of 일월오봉병 looked so special and I just thought it was a nice picture symbolizing Joseon. Ladies and gentleman I prefer you to go to 경복궁 when you have time Thank you. |
