We can learn a lot of things from the Old house. But, old houses are not around us much lately. However, I somehow think that old houses like Hanok are hiding a secreat treasure that our ancestors once had.

The hanok was built with natur itself. So you can say the house itself is breathing. Ofcourse, you can know how people lived in the past, from hanok. Therefore, I'm going to tell you everything I know about hanok.

There were various types of houses during the Joseon dynasty. For example, there were places, tiled roof houses, thatched roof houses and so on.

Nobleman lived in telled-roof houses. Nobleman were influenced by Confucan ideas. So, there were men and Women quarters for their own purpose.

Sarangchae including private library. And it was only for the men. Anchae were for the women. Servants stayed in the servants' quarters, Haengnangchae.

Middle and lower class people lived in thatched roof houses. Straw was usually used for the the roof houses are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This kind of house is simple and small.

Also, there is a kitchen. If it has a large and beautiful kitchen, it means that this family is rich.

Do you know Traditional Korean heating system? Koreans normally sleep and live on the floor. How could our ancestors survive during the cold winter?

The Ondol meaning 'warm stone' kept the floor warm.

Speaking of ancestors, there was also a shrine. The shrine was in a good location and was built before other builings. There are four food tables to serve ancestors of four generations.

Beacause the apartment is more convenient, hamok is disappering. From now on, We have to know more about nature, and know them by heart.

So, what do you say about hanok? I'd say it was perfect! Don't you think it is a treasure itself, that holds all te miracles?
