I went to Donuimun Museum village on June 20th. I visited the village with 2 other companies. We were supposed to go to the Seoul history museum, but did our lesson in the museum village. We visited the Donumin Gurakbu, art gallery in Seoul, Donumin game room, and artist gallery. We took our lesson in the village yard. We learned about the Hanyang's wall and doors. Hanyang's wall was built by King Taejo, but it has been built stronger by the later kings. There are four doors in the wall, each one in south west, east, and north. However, there are more doors between each one. Also, there is one more door INSIDE the middle Hanyang wall. The yangban, who needs to take a test called 'gwageo'. To take this test, the yangban should walk around the hanyang's wall one time, which takes month to succeed. there were many yangbans that failed this test. To succeed this, a yangban needs a hopae to prove that they are the citizen of Hanyang to show to the guards. The yukjogeori street was the most interesting subject for me. The Yukjogeori Street leads to the Geoungbokgung. The Yukjogeori contains 4 governments 6 ministries. That is why the street is called Yukjogeori, the 6 ministries.
If we had studied in the Seoul history museum, we could have known more about Hanyang. However, the museum village was outside, which made the lesson fun. I'm looking foward to the Minsok museum and hope it would be as fun and helpful as the village museum. |
