Today, I wen to the Seodaemun Prison History Hall.

I will talk about Marth 1st Movement and the Independence  Gate.

First, Yu Kwansun led the March 1st Movement in 1919.

She was the student at the Ewha women's school, but she had to go back to her hometown, because Japan ordered Korea to close all the schools. When she went back to her hometown, she planned the joint demonstration.

And on March 1st, in the Aunae Marketplace, she shouted Korea's Independence with other people. But for this, she was arrested and put into the prison.

Also inside the prison, she shouted Korea's Independence.

If I were her, I might escape to the other country to save my life, but I think if there is a problem in our country, Koreans should not escape and they have to fight for their country, because if Korea didn't exist, we might work like a slave for Japan, though wer are not Japan's citizens. I think it is worse than a slave.

Second, people built Independence Gate in 1896 and it was modeled after the 'Arch of Truimph'. But, when Japan occupied us, and involved with us, Koreans tried to get back our independence and fight against with Japan. Japan tried to arreset them and punish them. So they made the prison, but they made the Seodaemun prison, which was the largest prison at that time, because they want Koreans to feel like there is no bright future for Korea like that. They want us to feel hopeless about Korea.

Nowdays, Japan want to get Dokdo from us, so now, Koreans are fighting back. For these, I think Japan is doing bad things to us. So I think they should apologize to us.

Thank you for listening to my presentation.
