We went to the 경복 Palace today. 경복 Palace was the main palace during the Joseon Dynasty. 경복 means 'great fortune.' it was built by the first king of Joseon, 태조. However, it had burnt down when 선조 rules the country because of the 임진왜란. Soon, 고종's father, 흥선대왕군 rebuilt the 경복 Palace again.
The most impressive place in 경복 Palace was 교태전, because there wasn't any dragon ridge to protect the pregnant queen's baby. We could know that people cared a lot about queens and their babies. Also, we could see that our ancestors were smart, because in front of the 근정전, there is 박석. It prevents people from falling.
I live around the 경복 Palace, but I didn't know a lot of information about 경복 Palace. However, I am very happy to learn a lot about it today. |
