Hi my name is Jade and I¡¯m going to tell you about the palace of Joseon Dynasty. There were 5 palaces during the Joseon Dynasty. Gyeongbokgung palace, Gyeongungung palace, Gyeonghuigung palace, Changdeokgung palace, and lastly Changgyeonggung Palace.

Among these 5 palaces, Gyeongbokgung palace is the first palace of the Joseon Dynasty and the name means ¡°Great Fortune¡±. Palace building is divided into 3 areas. Outer palace was an area where the king worked and held official ceremonies. Inner palace was an area where the royal family lived. And the Back garden was an area where the king and royal family rested.

Donggung not only means the Crown Prince, but also the space where he resides. Gyeongbokgung Palace is called Donggung Palace because the location of the palace where the crown prince resides is located to the east of Naejeon where the king lives.

Gwannaegaksa refers to the government offices installed in the palace, that is, the activity space of various officials who enter and worked in the palace. Currently, only Sujeongjeon remains at the site of the Gyeongbokgung palace, but if you look at the old drawings of Gyeongbokgung Palace, you can see many buildings densely packed in this area.
