Hello. My name is Kunwoo.
We went the Namsan Hanok Village.
I learned many things especially, I was most interested in Jangdokdae.

Think about it.
What if you don't have a refrigerator?
You won't be able to keep food for long and very uncomfortable.
But in the past, ancestors stored food in Jangdok.
Jangdok is a round pot for storing traditional Korean foods such as kimchi, soybean paste, and pepper paste.
It's better than a plastic vessel. Because it is made of some special clay and baked at a high temperature.
Air can pass through, but water and dirt cannot. It is good for fermentation and ventilation. So the food stayed good and fresh for a long time.
Sometimes, Jandok was put in the ground in winter. When just leave it, because it can freeze.
Hanok's yard has a place for Jangdok. The place where put pots called Jangdokdae.
Ancestors cleaned and cared the Jangdokdae for the family's health.

It's nice to know about the wisdom and life of ancestors in the Jangdokdae.
