Today, I went to National folk museum of Korea so I'll introduce about 장승, 김치, and metal print block(금속활자).
First, there was 장승. 장승 is a wooden statue stand infront of the village. People believe that 장승 is a guardian of the village. According to the Yin and yang theory, 장승 divided into two part, 천하대장군 and 지하여장군.
Second, there is 김치. 김치 is a Korean traditional food. There are many recepies and ingredients, for example, spicy sauce and cabbage. There are 200 kinds of 김치. People make 김치 in Winter.
Lastly, there is metal print block from 고려. Before people make metal print block, they use wodden print block. But wodden print block can make just one pile of book so they make metal print block. Metal print block is more useful than wodden print block because metal print block can print many kinds and piles of books and it's more easy to print it because we just have to assemble the metal block.
I think we have to keep our tradition. In France of England, they just make their traditional houses stay so we can watch many traditional things in that nations. I think we have to emulate them. Thank you. |
