Gyeongungung is the first palace that has western-style buildings. Today, I went Gyeongungung Palace and studied about different kinds of buildings.
We saw many buildings such as 정관헌, 중화전, 근조전, and on and on. I think the most interesting place was 중화전. 중화전 is located at the middle of the palace. Also thi building is the most important place at the palace because ceremonies or events were held at 중화전. When we went inside we could see the king's throne. Behind the throne was a picture of a sun, moon, river, trees, and 5 mountains. The sun represents the king, the moon represents the queen, the river represents the people, the trees represents the officials, and the 5 mountains represents the land.
I think it was a good time to learn more about Gyeongungung palace. |
