Today, I went to Gyeongungung Palace. The palace's name was changed into Deoksugung Palace because the Japanese changed the name. Today, I saw many tiled-roof haouses. There was a main building called 'Junghwajun." There was the king's throne, and in the back there was 일월오봉도. All of the things that are on 일월오봉도 represent something. The sun represents the king, the moon represents the queen, the 5 mountains represent the land, the water represent the people, and the pine trees represent the officials. Lastly, I think 정관헌 is a good place because it was the place where king Gojeong drank coffee, listen to music, and relax. The wind was not too strong, and not too weak. The scenery was wonderful, too. I think Gyeongungung Palace was a nice place to visit. |
