Today I went to the 성균관 university. I learned about Korean studies in here.
Joseon was crucially impacted by Confucianism. The Confucius of Confucianism is Gongja, who is from China in 춘추전국 times. The main idea and theme is 인의예지. So they built shrines and if they did not follow these rules there were laws to punish them.
The 2 famous Confucian was Yi- Hwang and Yi-I. Yi-Hwang systemed Neo- Confucianism. Yi-I suggested 십만 양병설. This means Korea Joseon needed to train one million soldiers to protect Korea.
If people wanted to be in a high rank, they had to take 과거. Normally, 33people passed the exam. 1st 3is 갑과, next is 을과, and the rest is 병과. 1st prize is 장원급제, 2nd and 3rd is 방안급제, 을과 is 탐라급제. They got ranks 종6품to 종9품, according to thier test scores.
So today I learned about the Joseon’s life on being an official. I want to visit this place again because the life of officials are remarkably outstanding in the 성균관 university. |
