Hello, my name is Chloe. Today in ¹Ý±â¹® class, I learned about one of the palaces in Joseon, which is Gyeongbokgung. Among the different topics, I got interested in various paintings and decorations in there. In ±ÙÁ¤Àü, there is a painting called ÀÏ¿ù¿ÀºÀº´ behind the king's chair. Each natural meterials stands for different people, such as the king, queen, and the officers. Even though there were other countries that had a king at that time, ÀÏ¿ù¿ÀºÀº´ was a special painting that only Joseon had. There is also another kind of decoration in Gyeongbokgung, which is ½ÊÀå»ýµµ. You can find this painting easily on the wall of the palace. The things painted on the wall, which includes rocks, cloudes, and turtles, are belived to symbolize long life. It was very fun to listen to stories about old palaces and our history. I am looking forward to attending the second class next week. |
