Seodaemun Prison History hall ws even horrible than I've mentioned. Cruel scences were reenacted at basement torture rooms. One of the worst torture was the finger pricking torture. It's a tortue to prick our finger nails with sharp needles. At the end of the needles, there were blood. Other than that, there were wall coffin torture, needle box torture, and water torture. The reason Korean had to feel these pain was mostly because of the five traitors of 1905. They signed Japans unfair treaty without the king's permission. So as a result Japanese got the leadership of Korea. Koreans wanted Independance from Japan. Freedom Fighter fought for freedom which caused Japanese to build Seodaemun Prison in 1908 to imprison those patriots. Korean patriots still fought for freedom even if they got painful tortures. If it wasn't the patriots, Korea wouldn't have today's freedom. |
