Today, we went to Seodaemun prisin hall, which is the place that many patriots and freedom fighters were tortured and even killed.Also, it was the time that the Japanese used us as their colony.

     First, the prison hall was  made in 1908 by the Japanese, and was closed in 1987. This is 42years after we liberated from Japanese. This is because we still used as a prison after the liberation, and in 1988, the Olimpic was held in Korea, so we didn't want to show other people the bad condition of the prison.

     Second, many freedom fighters including Yu kwan sun, and  Kang woo gwu got tortured here. There was many kinds of horrible tortures.

     First was named as water torture because the Japanese hanged patriots upside down and poured spicy water or red pepper paste. It feels like drowning.

     Second is nail torture. The Japanese tied their hands so they can't move, and poked under of their nails, which is a very painfull torture.

     Third is the box torture. The Japanese put people in side a box that has sharp needles in both sides. And then, they shaked the box so the person inside gets poked by the sharp needles.

     Last is the wall coffin torture. They lock you in a place that is on the wall, and very small. After that, they don't give them food, and water for 3 days. After they open it, sometimes the person's legs get paralyzed, so they can't use there legs.    

      Also, there was the March 1st movement which Yu kwan sun planed, and went to village to village and got the agree of the March 1st movement. At the March 1st movement, 33 leaders declared Korea's independence at Pagoda park in 1919 in this movement, she got arrested and died in the Seodaemun prison hall when she was 19 years old.

     I think that if there was no freedom fighters,  there will be no freedom in korea in these days. So think we should  inherit their spirits and become patriots so this horrible history will not repeats.
