I went to 서대문 prson hall today and I learned manythings and was impressed in many ways. First, I learned about freedom fighters such as 유관순, 안중근, and 안익태. 유관순 started independence movements like 3.1 만세 운동. She was tortured by Japanese and died when she was 19 years old in Korean age. 안중근 shot 이토 히로부미 by gun and killed him in 하얼빈 station. Eventually, he was executed in 뤼순 jail. 안익태 was a person who composed 애국가. He fought for independence in other ways too. Second, I learned about some tools that made people couldn't escape. There are iron chain, shackles, and hand cuffes. Iron chain which was for waste was used for punishment. Shackles which were for ankles were used in the cell who tried to escape. Hand cuffes which were for hands were used when a person transported. Last, I learned about tortures. There are water torture, box torture, wall coffin torture, and hand nail torture. All of the tortures were horrible. After visiting 서대문 prison hall, I thought we have to thank our ancestors for sacrificing themselves to save our country. I hope this horrible history would not repeat again. |
