Well, I am sorry to hear that you felt a little bit bored at 운현궁.
But as you said this place is still important cause we can learn about the end of Joseon Dynasty
especially what happened in 19c and what is the leadership if there is hardships in Nation.
Beside it was not a palace technically but you can see the atmoshpere of Korean traditinal house and Confucialnism based on the buildings.
So if you have a chance, I would like to recomend you go again and check what can you see and feel.
Also imagine, if you are with foreigners, how would you introduce and explain this place. I am sure it would be good practice for you to improve your knowledge towards History and culture which makes you happy.
