Hi! My name is Ryan (in case you don't know) I will tell you about my trip to Gyeongbok palace. Originally built in the year of 1395 by King Tejo, Gyeongbok palace is one of the 5 palaces of the Joseon dynasty. Also Geongbok palace was the main palace and the biggest palace out of the 5 palaces. Gyeongbok palace was the main palace because there were mountains surronding the palace and a river called chunggyechun in front of the palace. Also according to the Feng Shui a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing everyone with the surrounding environment, Gyeongbok palace has the perfect geograpical location. Because of these reasons, Gyeongbok palace was the main palace out of the 5 palaces of the Joseon dynasty. The first thing I saw was the Main gate Gwanghwamun. I as suprised when I learned about the fact that the main gate was rebuilt 3 times! The first time by Heungseon Daewongun in the year of 1592 and next rebuilt afer the Korean war and finally it was rebuilt traditionally and put back into its original location in the year of 2010. I was surprised and sad because Gwanghwamun had such a sad story. Out of all the palaces Gangnyeongjeon, Geunjeongjeon, Gangnyeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, Gyotaejeon, Hyangwonjeong, Jagyeongjeon, and Sajeongjeon I liked Gangnyeongjeon the best I liked it th best because I thought it would be nice to live there. It s large and there is the illwolobongdo. The illwolobongdo is a picture of the sun that repersents the king and the moon which represents the queen and pine trees that represent offices who work for the king and five mountains that represents the korean peninsula and finally the rock and water that represents the people of the Joeson dynasty. Overall I thought that the trip I made to Gyeongbok palace was a great time to learn new information about Gyeongbok palace.
