Today, I went to the Seoul National Museum of Korea. I'm going to tell you about Joseon's capital, Hanyang and Hopae.
First, Hanyang was founded by Taejo Yi sunggae. Hanyang had Han River so the land was rich. Rich land was good for farming. Also Hanyang was the perfect place according to the Fung Shui system. Fung Sui system means that if there is the mountain at the back and river in the front, it will bring the luck. So it was really lucky that the capital was there.
Second, Hopae was an identification card. The citizens had to show it to the gatekeeper to enter the gate of the palace. On the back part, the date of the issues were written and on the front part, the personal information was written.
To sum up, I was glad to learn deeply about Hanyang and to know that during Joseon time there were ID cards as today. |
