Today we went to Kungbok palace.

Korea's king lived and stayed in palaces.

We can know how much our ancestors worked hard and specifically built palaces.

In Kyungbok palace, the main gate is Gwang- hwa Gate. After we have to pass two gates which is Hongnaemun and the Guenjeongmun. There is the Gang Tae bridge.

It is for clensing the mind before going into the holy king's land.

Finally we see the main building Guenjeongjun.

Infront, there are 24 rank stones that represents each rank.

On our left side, there military officers and on the right side, there are civil service officers.

In the Sajeongjeon the king does his daily office.

He discussed political affairs with his officers.

In the king's personal room Gangneongjeon, he slepted and rested there. Because the king himself was the dragon, there is no dragon ridge on the roof.

In the Gyeong hoeru he had unformal ceremonies there.

One of the details of the Gyungbok palace is that on every roof the Japsangs are protecting the King. It is more important when there are more Japsangs on the roof.

Kyungbok palace has its own sad history.

It was destryed by the Japanese and the North Korean tanks, but it was rebuilt and shows the magnificant power of Korea's traditional palace. Now it is one of the proud palaces in Korea and lots of foreigners come to take a look at it. We have to be proud of ourselves.
