Today was my first visit to 경복palace. Since it was the first time participating in Mariestory, I was very excited to meet new teachers and friends. My first thought when I stepped in was, that it was huger than I had ever thought. I was astonished of the main buildings and beautiful pavilions. After actually seeing what I studied before in home, I began to see the palace in whole new light. It suddenly looked more interesting. What I was suprised the most, was that everything about Joseon Dynasty was based on confusionism. What I liked the most is Yin and Yang theory, and 천원지방, which talk about the heaven is round and the earth is square. I personally thought that those theories can encourage people to be kind and help organize their lifestyle. I am looking forward to tomorrow, which we will be going to 운현palace. Even though it is not an official palace, it was home to king Gojong and Heungseon Daewongun so it is an origin of many historical events during almost the end of Joseon Dynasty. I hope that tomorrow will be as interesting and fun.
