Hello everyone, my name is Stella and today I went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace. I learned about a lot of things including Gwanghwamun, inner and outer palace, Geunjeongjeon, Sajeongjeon, Gangneongjeon, Gyotaejeonn, Jagyeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, Hyangwonjeong. Out of all these things, I will talk about five things. First, Geunjeongjeon was the main building of the palace. Coronations, royal weddings, and Chinese evoy receptions were held there. Also, it looked like a two-storey building, but I learned that it was only a one-storey building. There were many guardian animal statues on the stairs too. Second, Sajeongjeon is the kings's daily working office. The king and his officers gathered here to discuss national affairs. Also there was Cheonchujeon and Manchunjeon. There was a ¿Âµ¹ heating system in these two places, so the king worked here in the winter. Third, Gangneongjeon is the king's living quarter. The king rested and slept here after working. Also there isn't a dragon ridge on the roof. the dragon ridge is a symbol of the king. There was no need to make it because that king actually lived there. Another thing I learned about the dragon ridge is that a small dragon is the symbol of the crown prince. I learned that this is another reason for not having the dragon ridge. The dragon could scare offf the small dragon. Fourth, Gyotaejeon is the queen's living quarter. There is a special room attached, and it was used for giving birth. Also, there is a garden behind Gyotaejeon called Ahmisan because the queen could not go outside easily. I think that at this time, the queen would not be happy because she didn't have much freedom. Lastly, Gyeonghoeru is a place for resting and hosting parties. There are 48 pillars and the outer pillars are square, and the inner pillars are round. This comes from the Yin and Yang theory. Today I learned a lot of things, and I want to visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace again to learn more about the history of Gyeongbokgung. Also, I look forward to going to the Unhyeongung Palace. I hope it will be interesting and fun. Thank you for listening to my speech.
