It was so cold when I got there. We saw the Guanghwamun. And we stayed there for a while talking and getting to know each others better. The teacher told us about sad stories of old Gunghwamun. How it was destroyed and rebuilt. Then we learned that there were inner palace and outer palace and the resting and hosting place.

We hurried up to see the Geunjeongjeon. It was really great. It had really high ceiling and I had to crane my neck to see the dragon at the top. There was enormous yard. Also there were ranking stones. I had learned about them before when I went there with friends once. It was about officials standing by their rank in the yard in front of the king. We talked about the drawing back of the king's chair. It was sun and moon and five peaks. And then we talked about all their meaning and how the sun represents the king and moon represents the queen.

Sajeongjeon is the king's office. There are two annexes called Cheonchujeon and Manchunjeon. The Sajeongjeon is used in summer. I really wanted to go to that Cheonchujeon because it had a ondol and my feet were so freezing.

Then we saw the Gangneongjeon. The king's living quarter. There were lots of rooms all connected together. There wasn't a dragon ridge because king is the dragon. Kind of. Although I knew that before, I thought there could be another reason about how the king is the dragon of earth and dragon is the king of sky so if they meet together bad things can happen.

I really wanted to see the Gyotaejeon and Gyeonghoeru but we couldn't because there wasn't much time. Still it was really great. But it would have still been better if we came when it was much more warmer.
