Hello, my name is Marie, and today was the first day in my life to go to Gyeongbok palace and also Marie`s Story. I really liked it because I got to check out Gyeongbok Palace, not just reading about it in a book. We first introduced ourselves, and then we learned about the outer palace, inner palace, and the places like Gyeonghuiru.

      It was awesome! After learning about the basic ideas, we moved to Genjungjun, which was the main building for coronations and other important issues. I first thought it was a two-story building, but when I peeked inside, I saw that it was actually a one-story building! Soon after that we came to Sajungjun. It had one main building, and two other structures. The reason was that the main building was only used in summer, not in the cold, harsh winter. It was used for the king`s personal study and a place to talk with the officers.

      Last of all, we came to Gangnungjun, which was the king`s quarters. It was interesting that it had no dragon ridges. I also found out that 'king' is meant 'dragon' so I figured that it was the reason it didn`t have a dragon ridge. I had a very fun time visiting Gyeongbok palace, and I especially liked the part when we got to tell about Sajungjun and Gangnungjun to the teachers. I also really wanted to go to Gyotaejun and Gyeonghuiru, but we had to move on, so it was tooooooooooo bad for me.  

     After I went to Gyeongbok Palace, we ate lunch at a restaurant and went to a hanok and reviewed the things we learned from the tour. Then we wrote and memorized presentations about going and learning about Gyeongbok Palace. I really liked the tour, and I hope I would get this much fun with the teachers on the second day. It was the best experience I ever had!
