Hello, my name is Siyeon, and today, I went to the Changgyeonggung palace. There were many buildings and sad stories related to the palace. However, today, I will talk about Okcheongyo and Gyeongchunjeon.
FIrst, I saw. Okcheongyo. OKcheongyo is a stone bridge that connected the palace and the world of common people. Water went under the bridge. There were monsters at each end named Seosu (¼¼ö) or Cheonlok (õ·Ï). They protected the palace from the evil spirits of the water. Officials washed their minds while crossing the bridge and before meeting the king.
I also saw Gyeonchunjeon, and it is the living quarters of the queen, royal concubines, and the mothers of the king and queen. The palace isn't only a living quarter for the women part of the royal family, but King Jeongjo and his grandson, King Heonjong, were bith born in Gyeonchunjeon.
After I saw these palaces, I felt great to know deep history for the buildings of the Changgyeonggung palace. Thank you for your attention and have a great day. |
